KC Natural’s Sauces are quite frankly amazing! I am in love with the nightshade free Ketchup, Mastodon BBQ sauce, and nightshade free pasta sauce! The Primal Cherry BBQ sauce is also delicious if you prefer a smokier flavour. These sauces have so much flavour, and the ease of having a ready made sauce in your fridge is a convenience you don’t often get while eating AIP.
Great Lakes Gelatin and Collagen Hydrolysate are essential tools for gut healing. You can add the collagen powder to muffins, smoothies, and tea for added gut healing goodness, without the geling factor. The gelatin can be used to make gummies, panna cotta, and as an egg replacement. The reason I like this brand in particular is that their products are made from Grass Fed, Bovine sources (rather than the classic porcine), providing greater assurance that you aren’t getting the stored toxins that were fed to the animal, and better nutrient density.
Aroy-D Coconut Milk is marvelous. It is simply coconut and water. No additives, fillers, or emulsifiers – and still has perfect consistency every time. The full fat version is generally thick enough when chilled that you can beat it to make whipped cream, or even stir and use it as is as a yogurt replacement. I also use it in any baking that calls for milk (or a substitute).
Otto’s Cassava Flour is by far the best grain free flour option (assuming that you tolerate cassava). It has the most similar results to wheat flour, and can be replaced in your old favourite recipes in equal proportions. I’ve used it to make waffles, cookies, muffins, soft pretzels, gnocchi, tortillas, and pie crust. The flavour tends to be pretty similar to wheat flour, but with a hint of something that tastes like a flavour memory I have of ice cream cones in my childhood (the basic ones, not fancy waffle cones). I’ve been impressed (almost) every time. The only things I’ve had it fail in were gravy, and biscuits, but I think that was a milk substitution issue and not the flour’s fault.
Divina Kalamata Olives are so delicious! They are marinated in red wine vinegar, and honestly have the best flavour of any Kalamata olives I’ve ever eaten. Any time I’m craving Greek food, I pick up a jar. They are available whole pitted, and as a tapenade spread on ShopAIP.
