- 1/2 avocado (or banana)
- Frozen fruit of your choice (I usually choose berries, mango, etc, and approximately 1 cup of fruit)
- drizzle of maple syrup
- 1 tbsp Great Lakes collagen
- 1/2 tsp ground chia seeds
For added nutrients, add greens – if you’re using fresh greens, it’s best to blend them with some liquid first before adding other ingredients to ensure they are fully blended. Beet greens will also look the least green because of the red pigment in the stems. This can be an excellent way to get extra veggies into the bellies of picky kiddos. Tropical fruits and berries do the best job of camouflaging the flavour and texture of the greens. You can also freeze leftovers into a popsicle moulds for a handy snack later.
